London hotels near Kensington Gardens
Kensington Gardens can be found in the western part of Hyde Park in central London.
This huge 260 acre area consists of formal avenues, the Peter Pan statue, Serpentine Gallery, the Italian Gardens and the Albert Memorial. Of course, the most visited part in Kensington Palace, the last home of Lady Diana.
Little known but worth a visit is the Elfin Tree. Located close to the childrens playground and park cafe, this tree has some amazing carvings of fairies and elfs.
The southern part of Kensington Gardens is bounded by Kensington Gore, a continuation of the High Street. The northern part around the stunning Italian Gardens and fountains is bounded by Bayswater Road.
Immediately to the west of the park is Kensington Palace Gardens. Arguably the most elite residential street in Britain. No change out of £40m here for a house.
