Sir Charles Wyndham lived a life-long dream in November 1899 when he opened his own theatre, Wyndham's Theatre, on Charing Cross Road in London's West End. Designed by WGR Sprage, the theatre's curtains rose for the first time with a revival performance of T.W Robertson's David Garrick.
