About Lords Cricket Ground

You don't have to be a cricket lover to be thrilled by Lord's. When you tour this world-famous arena you tread in the footsteps of the giants of the game - cricketers like W G Grace, Jack Hobbs, Don Bradman, Gary Sobers and Ian Botham. Lord's was established in 1787 by Thomas Lord, a keen cricketer and, fortunately, a successful property developer.  Its owner, Marylebone Cricket Club, remains the guardian of both the Laws and the Spirit of Cricket, and MCC sides (which play around 500 games a year) perform a key role in promoting cricket - in Britain and elsewhere.

Why not visit the LONG ROOM at Lords? This is the 'Holy of Holies' where members watch the game with expert eye and players go out to defeat or victory. The Long Room is a cricketing art gallery and also houses a display of bats and balls used by some of the games' greatest names. It may be possible to visit other parts of the Pavilion including the Committee Room and the Dressing Rooms, if available.

Lord's also has one of the largest and finest, dedicated cricket shops in the country. Open daily, as well as on match-days, the Lord's Shop provides everything from unique Lord's souvenirs to cricket bats and equipment, including expert advice on what best suits you.
