Soho Square is located in the heart of the Soho area of west London, close to many West End theatres and the popular shopping areas of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Tottenham Court Road.
Built in the 1680's on land known as Soho Fields, Soho Square, which has intersections with streets including Soho Street, Sutton Row, Frith Street and Greek Street, is centred around a spacious leafy square, surrounded by a variety of offices, shops and bars.
Soho Square is home to a number of lively bars including Pop at 14 Soho Square and The Edge, home to a restaurant and a number of bars playing a variety of music on different floors at 11 Soho Square.
The Il Forno restaurant is also located in this area, serving a wide range of reasonably priced traditional Italian dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients, at 63-64 Frith Street.
Soho Square lies 100m west of Charing Cross Road WC2, home to the Phoenix and Palace theatres, in addition to a number of restaurants and shops. The British Museum, one of London's most popular attractions, stands 500m north-east of Soho Square in Bloomsbury.
Leicester Square can be found 450m south-east of Soho Square, while Covent Garden is located 700m south-east. Soho Square is located close to frequent bus, taxi and London Underground services.
Tottenham Court Road Underground Station, which provides Central and Northern line services to destinations including Bond Street, Oxford Circus and Marble Arch, stands 150m east of Soho Square.
